Family Challenge

Since our number of books read last week were so low, the children and I decided to challenge ourselves to read at least two books each this week. I'm also challenging myself to finish two audiobooks. I've only been averaging one audiobook and one regular book a week! Definitely, putting reading time (and therefore family time) at the forefront this week. Especially with school starting for both kids soon (just 35 days!) the time we'll be able to spend on recreational family time will naturally be shorter. Of course, we'll be able to do homework and stuff together and learning is fun, but it is summer so we'd like to go out with a bang!

This is our little reading area. We use the "formal" living room which has the comfiest couches and is the coziest area. The books in the upper left-hand corner are the books we're reading now. In the middle is the ones the kids would like to finish by the end of this week. On the right is our Bible books. We're really only reading the Bible on top right now, The Jesus Storybook Bible, but the kids like to look at the one on the bottom which is The Brick Bible (aka Lego).

They were supposed to choose two books each, but Chloe chose three. Shoot for the stars, right? Zachery chose Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder, which is pretty long in comparison to the Magic Tree House books... I'm really not sure if we'll be able to finish that one this week, but we'll certainly try.
