Book Review: Unexplained Fevers

As I've said before I don't really know the proper way to review poetry. I can say that I could see people who don't typically read poetry enjoying these whimsical fairy tale-based poems. The poems were reminiscent to me of lyrics by singer-songwriter Tori Amos or other indie Lilith Fair types (though I don't think Tori Amos ever participated in that). I enjoyed them much better than the last book of poetry I read. I think my favorite poem was 'The Mermaid Loses Her Voice'. I am giving this lovely collection of poetry 4 out of 5 stars.

Book Review: Axis Mundi

I've never reviewed a book of poetry before, so I don't really know what I'm doing. Like a collection of short stories, I'm not going to review each and every poem. I enjoyed these poems, even though sometimes they got a bit weird. I would say they were a bit like a piece of art from the surrealism movement. They would start off nice and normal and then morph into something a bit odd and otherworldly. The subjects of the poems were about topics such as the poets daughters, being a mother, nature, and also animals among other things. I enjoyed the ones that seemed to be about nature the most. I am giving this book of poetry 3 out of 5 stars.
