Book Review: Bluegrass Bachelors

Bluegrass Bachelors is the the latest book in the Romancing America series. This is the first I've read in the series and I must admit, I feared it may be a bit cheesy. I can't really pinpoint why, but I did. However, I was wrong this book was great! Let me rewind back a little and mention that Romancing America is a series that is great because like the Love Finds You... series this series can also be read in any order the reader sees fit, because each book has different characters, settings, time periods, etc.

Bluegrass Bachelors is a cute contemporary Christian romance that is set-up as three separate novellas. However, what I thought was really cool is each novella features the same characters within a group of friends and the characters from the previous novella's stories are somewhat continued or updated while telling the next character's story.

I appreciated that each novella was long enough to feel complete and whole. I thought the author did a great job. I liked the characters very much. They all were great wholesome, Christian examples- yet, still flawed people with their own struggles. They seemed "real".

The romances were very cute, sometimes almost a little too cutesy. I think the only point it got to the point of being so cutesy it was no longer realistic was the very end. That's forgivable. The first two novellas were similar in a lot of ways, but I still enjoyed both. All the men in the book, except Mike almost seemed like the exact guy, but the female characters are what really brought this book to life. I LOVED them.

I'm giving Bluegrass Bachelor's 4 out of 5 stars. I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a light, clean romance.

I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) courtesy of Netgalley and Barbour Publishing, Inc in exchange for an honest review
